Volunteer Match!

Did you know that a number of employers – especially financial institutions – offer a what is often called a “volunteer match” program, where any volunteer time donated by an employee to an nonprofit organization can be matched by the company in dollars?

For example, employees at First Interstate Bank are able to get their volunteer hours matched at $10 an hour, for up to $1000 per year. At that rate, all it takes to hit that annual limit is 8 or 9 hours each month, which is what most Court Appointed Special Advocates and Peer Coordinators do already! Several of our Advocates currently take advantage of a volunteer match program at their job, and as a result, CASA of Yellowstone County receives a generous donation.

Does your employer offer volunteer match? Talk to them about getting your volunteer hours counted! Not sure if it’s offered? Ask your human resources officer today!

Matched dollars or not, if you give your time to a worthy cause in your community, you deserve a big thanks. Keep up the great work!
